“Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”
Little Red Schoolhouse joins The Family Beat, Isabella’s Restaurant and Images Cinema presenting a special community screening of “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Images Cinema on Spring Street in Williamstown.
Tickets are $8/adults, $4/children 3-12, with a $20/family maximum. Each adult ticket includes entry into raffle for a family spaghetti and meatball dinner from Isabella’s Restaurant. Proceeds benefit the Little Red Schoolhouse preschool. For more information, call 413-458-8668
Parent-Tot Program beginning March 4, 2010
Little Red Schoolhouse offers weekly play group
WILLIAMSTOWN — The Little Red Schoolhouse will offer a five-week Parent-Tot Program for children 18 months to 2 years, 9 months beginning Thursday, March 4.
Each 90-minute session will offer free exploration time with several activities for children followed by a snack break. A variety of interactive play will be presented, including dance, song and story time.
The sessions will be supervised by experienced instructors certified in early education.
The program will run Thursdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. through April 1.
The cost of the five-week program is $25. Registration is required.

The school also has spaces available in its half-day and full-day preschool programs for the current academic year.
The Little Red Schoolhouse, a nonprofit cooperative school serving children 2 years, 9 months and older in Berkshire County and southern Vermont, is located just south of the intersection of routes 43 and 7 in south Williamstown.
Craft and Tag Sale- May 1, 2010
Vendors sought for juried craft sale
WILLIAMSTOWN — The Little Red Schoolhouse is seeking crafters and vendors for a juried craft and tag sale that will be held Saturday, May 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school.
Space is open to vendors selling homemade craft items (submit three photos of work to be displayed, including one of the crafter at work) and other new commercial items/specialties. Spaces are available for gently used tag sale items as well.
For $25, vendors will get a 10-foot by 10-foot space; a rectangular table and two chairs can be provided for an additional $10. Crafters and vendors are asked to donate a new item for a raffle.
The rain date will be Sunday, May 2.
Proceeds benefit the Williamstown Cooperative Nursery School, a traditional cooperative preschool serving children 2 years, 9 months and older in the Little Red Schoolhouse at the junction of routes 7 and 43.

Applefest – October 3, 2009
The event is a country fair that celebrates the beginning of autumn with activities for the whole family, including games, contests, face painting, crafts and more. A bake sale and food concessions offer food and drink to attendees, as well as an apple pie competition with homemade pies baked by community members and families of children attending the school. The event also features a raffle with more than 40 prizes donated by local businesses.
Applefest is the largest public fundraising event of the year for Little Red Schoolhouse, a nonprofit cooperative preschool serving children 2 years, 9 months, old and up from around north and central Berkshire County and southern Vermont. The funds raised from Applefest are used for classroom materials and curriculum planning.
Admission is $7 for children, with a $20 family cap. Adults are free.
